Kate focuses her practice in the areas of probate law, taxation, estate and trust administration and real estate.

Kate supervises the firm’s estate administration paralegals and provides critical support to the firm’s trust and estate taxation practice.

Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Kate moved to Raleigh in 1964, where she and her family still reside. Kate graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1981 with a BA in Political Science, and earned her law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1984. Kate has been with the firm since 2002. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a real estate paralegal with Wyrick Robbins, LLP, in Raleigh in its commercial real estate group. She is a member of the American, North Carolina and Durham Bar Associations, as well as a member of the Estate Planning and Fiduciary Law and Real Property Law Sections of the North Carolina Bar Association.
